The upfront cost of a mini cold storage unit is often the biggest reason small business owners delay a purchase they otherwise know they need. It’s worth understanding the realistic financing paths before assuming it’s out of reach.
Common Financing Routes
- SME loans from commercial banks, several of which have specific agro-processing or cold chain lending schemes
- Bangladesh Bank refinance schemes aimed at agriculture and SME development, accessed through partner banks
- NGO or microfinance institution loans, for smaller-scale operators
- Supplier or import-partner phased payment arrangements, where part of the cost is paid on delivery and the rest over time
What Lenders Typically Ask For
Most lending routes will want to see a business plan or at least a clear use case, your Trade License and TIN, and some indication of expected cash flow from the cold storage — how it pays for itself through reduced spoilage or better market timing.
What We Can and Can't Help With
We don’t arrange financing directly, but we can give you an accurate cost estimate for the unit itself, which is the number you’ll need for any loan application. We honestly can’t quote a fixed price here since it depends on size and specification — ask us for a quote built around what you’re planning to store.
