Injection Molding Machine Price in Bangladesh: How to Choose One from China

Coloured plastic pellets used as raw material for injection molding

To choose an injection molding machine from China for Bangladesh, start from the product and its mould: the part’s size and weight decide the clamping force (tonnage) and shot size you need, and the plastic decides the screw and heating. Then add the auxiliaries every moulding line needs: a hopper dryer, a chiller, a mould temperature controller and a crusher for runners. The injection molding machine price in Bangladesh depends on tonnage, servo or standard pump, brand of hydraulics and controls, and the auxiliaries included. DE International sources machines and moulds from Chinese manufacturers in Ningbo and Guangdong and delivers them door-to-door; ask us for a current quote.

Start from the product, not the machine

A common mistake is to ask a supplier for “a 200-ton machine” before deciding what to make. In injection molding, the mould is designed around the product, and the machine is chosen to fit the mould. Bangladeshi moulders make household items (buckets, mugs, chairs), caps and closures, electrical fittings, packaging, toys and parts for local assemblers. Each has a very different mould and machine.

  1. Define the product. Drawing or sample, plastic type (PP, HDPE, ABS, PC, etc.), weight, wall thickness.
  2. Design the mould. Number of cavities, hot runner or cold runner, cooling channels. This decides the projected area and the shot weight.
  3. Calculate clamping force. Projected area of all cavities and runners multiplied by the cavity pressure the plastic needs. The supplier or mould maker should show this calculation.
  4. Check shot size. The machine must inject the full shot weight comfortably within its injection capacity, not at its limit.
  5. Check mould fit. Tie-bar spacing, mould thickness range and opening stroke must accept the mould and let parts drop out.

Clamping force, shot size and the other numbers that matter

SpecificationWhat it meansWhy it matters
Clamping force (tons)How hard the machine holds the mould closedToo low and the mould flashes (plastic leaks at the parting line)
Shot size / injection weightHow much plastic it can inject in one cycleToo small and parts are incomplete; far too big and plastic degrades in the barrel
Screw diameter and L/D ratioSize and length of the melting screwAffects melt quality and the plastics you can run
Tie-bar spacingSpace between the four bars the mould sits betweenThe mould must physically fit
Opening strokeHow far the mould opensDeep parts like buckets need a long stroke to eject
Pump typeFixed pump or servo motorServo machines use less electricity when idle and holding

Ask for these figures on the quotation itself, not only in a brochure. When we compare quotes for clients, the differences hide here: two machines sold at the same tonnage can have very different shot sizes and tie-bar spacing.

What decides the injection molding machine price in Bangladesh

  • Tonnage. The biggest price driver, roughly in line with machine size and weight.
  • Servo vs standard hydraulic. Servo costs more at purchase but cuts power use, which matters given industrial electricity tariffs.
  • Hydraulic and control components. The brands of pump, valves and controller affect reliability and spare part availability.
  • Auxiliaries. Dryer, chiller, mould temperature controller, crusher, auto loader and mixer can add a large share to the total budget.
  • Robot. A take-out robot or sprue picker reduces labour and cycle time.
  • Mould. Usually priced separately and often costs as much as the machine for complex parts.

We do not publish fixed prices because the configuration changes everything. Send us your product and target output and we will build a quote for the machine, mould and auxiliaries together.

The mould: who owns it and how to protect it

If you have a mould made in China, agree in writing that you own it, what steel it is made from, how many shots it is guaranteed for, and whether it stays in China or ships with the machine. Moulds left in a supplier’s factory can be used for other customers. Our post on mould and tooling ownership explains the risks. Customs also treats a mould you supply to a factory differently; see customs valuation additions.

Power, raw material and running costs in Bangladesh

  • Three-phase power. All production machines need it; plan your connection load with the machine, heaters and auxiliaries together.
  • Raw material. Virgin resin is imported, and local recycled pellets are widely used for lower-grade household items. A recycled-pellet business is covered in our plastic recycling machine guide.
  • Cooling water. A chiller keeps cycle times short; tap water cooling in hot weather slows production and causes warping.
  • Drying. Hygroscopic plastics like ABS and PC must be dried before moulding or parts show silver streaks.

Horizontal or vertical machine

Most production in Bangladesh runs on horizontal machines, where the mould opens sideways and parts drop out by gravity or are picked by a robot. They suit high-volume items like caps, containers, buckets and housings. Vertical machines inject from above into a mould that opens upward. They are used for insert moulding, where a metal pin, wire or terminal is placed into the mould before plastic is injected around it, such as plugs, cable connectors and some electrical fittings. If your product has a metal insert, ask the supplier whether a vertical machine with a rotary table would be faster than a horizontal machine with hand loading.

A worked example: planning a household bucket line

Suppose you want to make plastic buckets with a lid and handle for local markets. The planning order would look like this:

  1. Fix the bucket sizes and wall thickness you want to sell, and weigh market samples to estimate part weight.
  2. Ask a mould maker for bucket, lid and handle moulds. The bucket is deep, so the mould maker will tell you the opening stroke and ejection the machine must provide.
  3. From the mould design, the maker calculates the projected area and the clamping force needed, then the shot weight. Only now do you ask machine suppliers for quotes, with these figures in hand.
  4. Decide whether the lid and handle run on the same machine with mould changes, or on a smaller second machine, so the big machine keeps running buckets.
  5. Add a mixer if you will blend virgin and recycled pellets with colour masterbatch, a crusher for runners and rejects, and a chiller.
  6. Plan floor space for the machine, mould changes, finished stock and raw material bags, plus crane or forklift access.

This order avoids the most expensive mistake in moulding: a machine that cannot take the mould you actually need.

Common mistakes when importing an injection molding machine

  • Buying the machine before the mould is designed. The mould may not fit.
  • Choosing tonnage with no margin. Parts flash and the mould wears.
  • Forgetting auxiliaries. The machine arrives but cannot run properly without a dryer or chiller.
  • No installation plan. Heavy machines need a crane or forklift and a level floor. See shipping heavy machinery door-to-door.
  • Spare parts. Heater bands, thermocouples, check rings and seals should come with the machine.

How DE International helps

FAQ

How do I choose an injection molding machine from China?
Start from the product and mould: calculate clamping force from the projected area, check shot size, tie-bar spacing and opening stroke, then add auxiliaries.

What is the injection molding machine price in Bangladesh?
It depends on tonnage, servo or standard pump, components, auxiliaries and the mould. Ask us for a current quote for your product.

Is a servo injection molding machine worth it?
Usually yes for machines running long shifts, because servo systems use less electricity when holding and idling.

Do I need a chiller and dryer?
A chiller is needed for steady cycle times; a dryer is essential for hygroscopic plastics like ABS and PC.
